Tom Nation Takes Centre Stage at the Sandler US Conference

November has been a big month for us. Our Associate Tom Nation delivered his first successful overseas workshop at Arlington’s Sandler Network Conference in the US — a proud milestone for both Tom and Sandler South West.

Tom Takes the Stage

If you’ve been following Tom, you’ll know that he’s a well-established thought leader in the South West and beyond — whether he’s hosting sales masterclasses on our home turf or guest speaking at flagship events such as the Bites of Wisdom workshop for Exeter Chamber last summer. So it’s a great honour for Tom to join the conference’s speaker line-up for the first time after three years of attendance.

His workshop, Fuel the Tank – Build the Leads, gave business owners a practical framework to strengthen their sales pipeline. Attendees completed a Fuel Tank Audit, rated their performance across four key lead sources — referrals, networking, online behaviour and speaking events — and built a 30-day plan to increase activity by 50%. These are core areas we regularly develop with organisations across the South West through our Sandler training and coaching programmes.

“There was so much to take away from the US Conference,” Tom says, “But the biggest takeaway is gratitude. Gratitude not just for the opportunity to speak in front of 40 sales experts and advance further professionally, but also working for a company and a network that motivates you to become a better version of yourself.

Strengthening Global Partnerships

Beyond the sessions, the conference offered invaluable time for Tom to network with fellow franchise owners across the pond. It gave him the opportunity to rub shoulders with Simon Finneran from London Canary Wharf’s Sandler franchise, as well as attend excellent, thought-provoking talks from Mike Crandall and Andrew Wall in Oklahoma and Milton. Tom even managed to squeeze in some sightseeing along the way!

This global collaboration directly strengthens the expertise and insights we bring to sales leaders and business owners in the South West.
