Jay Mathis is a seasoned sales and leadership consultant with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations strengthen performance, deepen trust, and build winning cultures. Before launching Sandler by Mathis Consulting, Jay spent nearly two decades in insurance, leadership development, and organizational health—work that shaped his conviction that measurable, lasting change happens when people are equipped with the right behaviors, attitudes, and techniques.
As a Sandler partner, Jay brings a steady, practical style to helping businesses improve sales effectiveness, elevate leadership capability, and create organizational clarity. He is known for making complex concepts simple, guiding teams through real-world challenges, and developing leaders who can create consistent results.
Jay’s approach blends the proven Sandler methodology with insights from his years as a trainer, consultant, and former nonprofit executive. Whether he’s coaching a sales professional, advising a leadership team, or facilitating a workshop, Jay’s goal is always the same: help people communicate with confidence, sell with integrity, and build organizations that thrive.
Outside of work, Jay enjoys life in the mountains of northern New Mexico with his wife, Lydia. They have three adult children and a growing family that keeps life both full and joyful.
