Your guide to surviving and thriving in Q4

|

Let's face it: Q4 is here, and if you're staring at your sales numbers thinking, "How in the world am I going to hit my quota?" you're not alone. Many people are feeling the pressure right now. But hitting your year-end goals doesn't have to feel impossible. It's not about working harder; it's about working smarter.

Here's where to focus your energy to finish Q4 strong and stop feeling like you're racing against the clock:

1. Find what moves the needle

If you're behind on your goals, now's not the time to reinvent the wheel. Take a hard look at the last five deals you closed. Where did they come from? Was it referrals, follow-ups, or repeat business? What networking events have you met your favorite clients at?

Focus on these proven sources of success. You don't need a new genius strategy or fancy AI tool—you need to double down and be consistent with what's already working.

2. Follow the process (yes, every step!)

Pressure can make you feel like you need to go faster and/or try to cut corners. You know who needs to be disqualified and who needs to stay in the process; don't lower those standards because you're nervous.

Don't fall into that trap. Stick to your process, trust the why, and stay consistent with your efforts. The shortcuts you're tempted to take now will become massive pains for you later.

3. Don't ignore current accounts

Ask yourself: Who's more likely to close—a client you've been nurturing for years or a cold prospect? The answer is obvious.

Make sure you're giving your current clients the attention they deserve. Check in to see if there's anything you can do to help them finish the year strong, and position yourself as a trusted partner for their goals next year. Retaining and expanding within your existing accounts is one of the easiest ways to hit those numbers.

4. Prioritize what matters

Yes, the pressure's on to hit your goals, but sacrificing your time with friends and family (or your own self-care) won't magically close more deals. In fact, it usually backfires. Burnout doesn't lead to success—it leads to mistakes, poor communication, and missed opportunities. Make time for what matters outside of work. A clear mind will help you perform better when you're back at it.

You don't have to scramble; take time now to be strategic and use what time you have to make a plan to hit the goal. Now is the time to refocus and execute on what works. Trust in your process, take care of your existing clients, and stay consistent with your daily efforts. You'll cross the finish line stronger than you think.
